About Company

New Mexico, Kentucky permit

New Mexico is one of the few states in the United States that charge its own highway tax called The New Mexico WDT Tax or New York Weight-Distance Tax. All the vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds and more, and traveling on the state highways of New Mexico, are subject to pay these taxes. Every trucking company must also register and apply every year for New Mexico Permit if their vehicles are operating across the state.

HOW IS IT CHARGED?

These taxes are charged on the basis of the weight of the vehicle and the distance traveled by the vehicle on the roads of New Mexico, and you have to pay these taxes every quarter at the end of each quarter.

The vehicles registered and titled in New Mexico and travel intrastate for commercial purposes are entitled to apply for New Mexico Permit. And they also get a New Mexico WDT Plate.

TEMPORARY PERMITS

New Mexico also provides temporary permits to those who travel in and through the state for commercial purposes and not titled in the states of New Mexico. Such permits are valid only for 72 hours, and the permits are obtained at the port of entry, either before or at the state border.

HOW TO DO NEW MEXICO FILING?

Just like the IFTA and other tax filings, New Mexico Filing is a complex and tiring process. But the skilled and experienced at Global Multi Services could provide you both the New Mexico Permit and New Mexico Filing services at the most cost-effective prices.

HEAVY VEHICLE USE TAX

All the vehicles that weigh 55,000 pounds and above must pay the Federal Heavy Vehicle Use Tax. These taxes are usually paid by the operators of the motor carrier directly to the Internal Revenue Services. The vehicles that are entitled to pay the HVUT must submit the proof of filing to the Motor Vehicle Division Of New Mexico through an IRP stamped copy of form 2290.
